Laser infrared devices is a portion of an/alq-21 (v) that generates muliple bands laser to contermeasure various heat seeking missiles. The other portion of the an/alq-212(v) is the an/aar-57(v) warning receiver systems, countermeasure. Therefore, an/alq-212(v) is capable of dispensing flares and chaffs and it also has laser capability to defeat various heat seeking missiles.
