Headborne energy analysis and di (NSN 5865-01-564-3384)
Special Features
Helmet sensor is a small, lightweight, low-power sensor suite that mounts to the light weight helmet (lwh); helmet sensor will detect, measure and record impact (acceleration in three degrees of freedom) and blast overpressure associated with concussive events/ied blasts that marines may experience in operational enviroments; data is downloaded via a usb port to any computer
End Application
8470-01-560-3267; helmet, ground troops
Part Name Assigned By Controlling Agency
Headborne energy analysis and diagnostic system (heads) helmet sensor
General Description
Sensor internally mounts to top of lwh, sensor weighs approximately 1.23 ounces, designed to fit underneath crown pad of helmet; battery life between recharge cycles is approximately six months; battery recharged automatically when downloading data via micro usb cable; sensors dynamic acceleration capture range is: 1g to greater than, or equal to 5000g; sensor has continuous and automatic data connection (blast, ballistic, crash and blunt impact events) with indefinite data storage; sensor has an intergrated pressure sensor with plus 100 pounds per square inch absolute range to discriminate against non-significant impact events (dropped/thrown helmet); sensor can record in excess of 600 events; helmet sensor automatically re-arms following recorded event
